Tour: Kohl's Food Stores - Park Street, Madison, Wisconsin

 Today at A&P Preservation we're taking a brief look inside the former Kohl's Food Stores in Madison, Wisconsin on Park Street. For those who don't know what Kohl's Food Stores is, it was one of the first companies acquired by A&P in the early 80's, in 1983. This 60-store chain, located in the greater Milwaukee area, was owned by A&P until 2003. They were some of the most deluxe stores in the entire A&P company, and most were replaced in the late 90's. A few of Kohl's signature "Arch" models still stuck around until the end, in 2003, when A&P started to pull out of the Midwest. 

 This particular location has the 90's Foodmarket decor. It's very scaled back because of the size of the store, but it still gets the job done! Notice how the lettering is done in a dark red here instead of the normal blue and green.

 It's quite an interesting store design! This store looks a lot larger than 20,000 square feet. However, that's what it tops out at!
